Does 2009 numerology herald good or bad times for us all?

Universally, 2009 in terms of numerology promises us all the chance
to learn & grow as human beings.

2+0+0+9= 11/2

Numerology forecasts reduce numbers to a single digit, except when
the master numbers 11 and 22 are involved.

This year the year does indeed reduce to a master number. But, that
master number starts out as the number 29 so lets take a closer look
at the number 29, itself, first.

This number is indeed a testing number.

By that, I mean that everything in life is a test, really. The main
thing that we all have open to us in a free world , is choice.

We all choose how to conduct ourselves & our lives.

Therefore, every opportunity that arises is a chance for us to learn
love and forgiveness.

Heaven knows that there is a lot going on in the world, financially,
politically, physically and in the name of religion that is far from
good. But each and every one of us has the choice to meet these
challenges with negativity ( that prolongs the wrong) or with love and
forgiveness that will ultimately cleanse the planet of all negative
influences.

The number 29 is a very high numerical vibration to contend with.
Bringing it down to the master number of 11, it is still high but can
be interpreted into more understandable terms.

As a prediction, the number 11 in the position of 2009 means that
mankind will be forced to learn and grow about the true meaning of
what it is to be human and part of a universal collective of people.

A coming together of all nations and peoples is forseen as we
globally all unite and pull together for the good of all.

Now, as this forced change that brings these events about is at
present unforeseen, as a Numerologist I too can only ponder.

Will it be the continuing decline of the financial markets? Will it
be global warming that hinders crops making us all contribute to a
communal harvest to ensure food for all?

Or will extraterrestrials finally make contact?
If this happened then maybe wed clearly be able to identify
ourselves as one.Wouldnt it be remarkable that all that was needed to
join us together as humankind was a visit from a stranger?

Whatever does happen in 2009 the prognosis is good because we will
learn from it how to truly live together in harmony.

On a day to day basis I think 2009 will see us all becoming more
contemplative of our actions, making sure that our conduct is and is
seen to be for the good.

I include all members of society in that statement.

People who have been quiet in the past (from all walks of life &
society) will now feel the urge to speak and they will have profound
things to say.

Visionaries will become the new celebrities and we will all welcome
their messages of faith and hope for the future.

PLUTO IN CAPRICORN 2008-2023

Although Pluto is a small planet,it gives very powerful blows.Pluto represents death and endings and the breakdown of the structures in our life that are required in order to bring transformation and fresh beginnings. Pluto brings us face to face with the ultimate reality of life and,destroys whatever stands in the way of our soul's ultimate destination.

Pluto's passage through the signs brings with it a compulsive fascination in the issues denoted by that sign. He exposes the darkness that lies at the core of the sign's archetypes and, destroying the old order, demands that we rebuild on the ashes of the old.

Pluto has been traveling through Sagittarius since 1995, bringing with it wars (Pluto) over religion and ideology (Sagittarius), as well as "culture wars" and the growing divide between groups that think differently, all Sagittarius archetypes.Sagittarius carries with it a nearly relentless optimism; ruled by Jupiter with its expansive need for growth, Pluto in Sagittarius has seen soaring home prices and a burgeoning stock market that seems to have no end. The "new economy" era occurred under Pluto's Sagittarian influence, as did the explosion of the home market.

Pluto transits typically include a breakdown phase, where structures that no longer serve us are dismantled to make room for new structures that are more in line with our spiritual evolution.

Capricorn is the sign of the builder, the achiever. Capricorn is rooted in the material world and understands that life on earth requires a practical approach to the matters of earning a living. There is also a drive for success; to climb the highest mountains like the goat which is it's symbol. For Capricorn, the ends justify the means and achievement of one's goals is the important thing and it is able to maintain a powerful focus.

Its rulership by Saturn gives respect for discipline and authority and Capricorn has tremendous respect for governmental structures and the stability of a moral system.When Pluto goes through Capricorn we can expect the transformation of all things ruled by that sign - such as our religious institutions, halls of government and political structures, the way we inter our dead and take care of our old people, construction techniques and buildings, and how we handle ownership of property.

While Pluto takes 244 years to orbit the Sun, its elliptical orbit means that it doesn't spend the same amount of time in each sign. For example, it only took twelve years to travel through Scorpio, but it took 26 years to get through Cancer and 19 years through Leo. Pluto will be in Capricorn until 2024, and this occurs at a time when our Capricornian structures are ripe for transformation. Industry (Capricorn) in developed and developing countries as become a major source of carbon emissions which threaten the survival of life on earth. The Catholic Church (Capricorn), rocked by sex scandals, is struggling for survival. The very way we do business (Capricorn) is being forever changed by the globalization of politics and the economy.

Pluto will be enter Capricorn for the first time January 25, 2008 and will retrograde back into Sagittarius one final time on June 14. It will journey back into Capricorn on November 26, 2008 and remain there until January 21, 2024. For sixteen years, Pluto will engage in a process of breaking down and then rebuilding the structures on which we depend for a successful experience in the material world.

Pluto was last in Capricorn from November 1762 until December 1, 1778. Pluto deals with transformation of the political and economic realities of our world, and its entry into Capricorn marked the end of the Seven Years' War in which France ceded Canada to Britain, but political unrest was felt throughout Europe as well as in the Colonies and this period marked a reconfiguration of many of the nations in the world. Catherine the Great acceded to the throne after the murder of her husband, perhaps at her own hand, and presided over wars with the Ottoman Empire that resulted in Russian acquisition of much of the Turkish lands. The first partition in Poland occurred during this period which split Poland into three sections owned by Russia, Prussia and Austria. Britain traded Cuba to Spain in exchange for Florida; Parliament passed the Stamp Act to pay for the wars that began the Colonial rebellion that resulted in the American Revolution.

The thirst for revolution in France, England and Russia of the Pluto in Aquarius period that generated an obsession (Pluto) with liberty and equality (Aquarius) stemmed from a reaction to the breakup and reconfiguration of world nations (Capricorn) that followed the colonial expansion (Sagittarius) that preceded it. Pluto's previous passage through Capricorn back in 1516-1533 c.e. was preceded by the original exploration of the New World that gave rise to the later Colonial ideals. Once the original explorers had returned to the courts of Europe, under Pluto in Capricorn those countries set out to conquer the New World and create new colonies that were subservient to the European rulers. The rise of anti-Catholic sentiment that brought about the rise of Protestants under Pluto in Sagittarius gave way to Martin Luther's formalizing his revolt with his nailing his Thesis to the door of the Church in 1517 under Pluto in Capricorn, founding a new structure of worship, the Lutheran Church.

Although Pluto will enter Capricorn for the first time in January, it will retrograde back into the late degrees in Sagittarius in June 2008 where it will make one final sweep through the Sagittarian issues of religion, philosophy, travel, ideology, journalism, optimism, and general expansion. Throughout 2008 it will be virtually stationary, traveling less than three degrees during this period, from 1 degree Capricorn back through 28 degrees Sagittarius. Because it will be stationary for so long, where its influence is the most powerful, I would expect a great deal of intensity and forced transformation during this period. This will be particularly intense for those of us who have planets in the late degrees of the mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini) or the early degrees of the cardinal signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Aries Libra).

Pluto causes endings and new beginnings - it forces us to surrender as it rebuilds us from the inside out. I suspect that throughout next year the intense optimism of Pluto in Sagittarius will battle with the necessity for realism of Pluto in Capricorn, and it will be a while before the economic problems really hit home. Mars will oppose Pluto in early March, which will create some fireworks of aggression and confrontation, and Saturn will make its second trine to Pluto in April which will ease the challenge of the new requirements of Capricorn Pluto which wants to tear down and rebuild the structures of our life and planet and intensify the power bases that govern society.

Once Pluto is firmly entrenched in Capricorn beginning in December 2008, we will begin to really see it at work. This of course will follow the US presidential election in November 2008. Pluto seeks to focus and intensify as well as break down and regenerate. The structures of our world keep societies in order and functioning: churches, governments, buildings - all of these are ruled by Capricorn. But so are bridges and tunnels, and the entire infrastructure upon which we live, particularly in urban areas, are likely to experience a severe breakdown while Pluto travels through Capricorn. Underground transportation, under the domain of the god of the underworld, could become a battleground as Pluto often brings warfare or death in the areas of the sign through which it passes (such as September 11th during Pluto in Sagittarius, where air travel became a conveyance of death and total world transformation).

During the passage of Pluto, we see extremes and compulsions in the area of life associated with the sign through which Pluto travels, and with the Capricornian association with governments and government buildings I would expect a worldwide attempt to solidify a global government and minimize individual liberties. Pluto deals with issues of power - on a personal level such as personal empowerment as well as with the power structures that govern all of humanity that fall under the rubric of the Capricorn theme. When Uranus enters Aries in 2010-2011, there will be a fervor as the pendulum swings back towards individual liberties. By the time Uranus forms a square to Pluto in Capricorn in 2012-2013 there will be tremendous cultural, social and political upheaval which will further transform governments and political structures.

Pluto's reach will extend beyond governments, however. Capricorn also rules the elderly and end of life issues, and Pluto's passage through Capricorn could transform the way we view the entire process of death and dying, including the disposal of the body after death.

Often Pluto's passage through one sign is a reaction to Pluto's passage through the previous sign, and in Capricorn there may be a reaction of the practical and materialistic Capricorn against the ideological idealism of Pluto's travel through Sagittarius. An overdose of pragmatism could lead to the negativity and depression with which Capricorn is sometimes associated. Capricorn is associated with achievement and can be ruthless in its efforts to climb to the top, and we could see an increased obsession (Pluto) with climbing the ladder of success that leads to a breakdown in certain segments of society.

There is always a side to Pluto cycles, and in Capricorn we are likely to see an increase in stability and a more practical approach to economics and business than we saw under the Sagittarian influence. The inflated (Sag) bonuses for CEOs that we saw in recent years are likely a sign of the past as businesses and corporations become more concerned with Capricornian fundamentals than with Sagittarian appearance and image. Capricorn is essentially practical and prizes achievement above all else, which means achievement of real goals and objectives. Although Pluto in Capricorn will bring out secrets (Pluto) of governments and other political entities (Cap), there will be an increased focus on proficiency, skill, and a successful outcome rather than spin and propaganda of the Sagittarian era.

Update December 1, 2008: Since this article was written we have seen the beginnings of a collapse in the global banking system and the automobile industry in the United States, both systems that are ruled by Capricorn which presides over banking, government, and corporations. It's easy to become frightened as we watch the domino effect of one company after another shut their doors. If we look a little harder, though, we can see that this collapse has spared financial companies with strong fundamentals who did not engage in the relentless optimism of the Pluto in Sag period that fueled the mortgage meltdown and may have encouraged business practices that were not practical or effective. While in Capricorn, Pluto will demand that the structures that secure our lives have a strong foundation in practicality, and any structure that has been weakened through irrational and unrealistic practices will be forced to transform itself (Pluto) in one way or another.

The transformation of Pluto is ruthless, but it is not cruel. Pluto sees the need to eliminate that which is no longer working so that new life can survive

Saturn in Virgo-2009

On September 2, Saturn moves into Virgo where it will bring influences of restraint, discipline, structure, disappointment, limitation, and karmic lessons. Saturn has a natural affinity for Virgo and its cautious nature and love of service and work, and Saturn in Virgo periods can be very productive ones.

In Virgo, Saturn's tests move into in the area of health and service and encourage us to live dutifully and honorably. Saturn in Virgo demands organization and resists impulse, requiring us to live practically and cautiously with a high regard for our own safety and security and that of those around us.As Saturn travels through Virgo it will create problems for those of us with planets in the mutable signs unless we stick to the lesson plan that Saturn requires.

Virgo tends to be a more conservative sign, and with Saturn in Virgo we may see a trend towards conservation that is quieter than Saturn in Leo. Oil conservation is associated with Virgo over the years, and automobiles are likely to become more practical and air flight may become more restricted in an effort to conserve fuel and protect the atmosphere from carbon emissions.

Virgo's rulership over the body-mind connection connects Saturn in Virgo with health issues, so this is the time to get your physical house in order. Changing our habits regarding the food we eat, how and how often we move our body, and incorporation relaxation into our life will please Saturn as we improve our health and stamina. This is particularly true for those of us with planets in the mutable signs of Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini, but won't hurt the rest of us either!

There is no need to fear Saturn, no matter what you read. Saturn is a demanding taskmaster, but his lessons are for our own good. 2009 In a few days we will enter the New Earth,a New Year of 2009.
There is no time, its all in the now, so in this now moment where do
you choose to be, and how do you choose to feel and think, do and be?
The energies of the Number One (in Numerology) empower one with
energized self-initiative, originality, leadership and a drive to
achieve. Its a number that animates and prompts life events and
personal actions to seek and assume a leadership role through
creativity, breakout originality, invention, ambition, assertiveness
and innovative action. We are already there, there is no time or
space, all is now and all is in this space one, so what energies do
you want to send out from your thoughts and emotions that create your
world? 2009 is a number 11 year and the 10th year of the new
millennium. The number Two, is just the opposite... its energy style
and disposition is more indicative of and tends to prefer group or
partnership interaction (a banding together with others in union and
association). Its a number that is more comfortable serving in a
background role that is more supportive, rather than one that steps
boldly forward in dynamic singular leadership (like the number One).

relationship, you could consider the Number (11) as the FBI and the
planet Uranus as the collective group of field agents operating under
its authority. Together they are on a mission to overturn, eliminate
and positively reconstruct societys fraudulent ways. Uranus will be
assuming a specialized role (during 2009) as it scans the World for
areas of injustice and corruption. Its single focus is the elimination
of greed, corruption, perversion, depravity and all things that are
legally, ethically and morally dishonest. Uranus is known as the
planet of Lightning Strikes... by that I mean it can strike anywhere,
anytime in the conduct of its housecleaning agenda. You can expect
early (2009) to be a continuation of our present economic slide, but
then later in the year, there will be a slow metamorphic recovery and
economic stabilization through the implementation of fair banking
policies and correctly engineered governmental controls. Uranus and
the number (11) energy of (2009) will have crushed and swept away many
of the economic pathogens and paralyzing influences that have been
ruthlessly controlling the world during the past twenty years. As we
approach 2010 the vital energy and positive thrust of life will be
replenished and born anew, providing humanity a renewed hope for a
brighter more successful future. So,by February 2009 in the duality
world there will a tightening of the bank money and things will start
to get harder, by April with lots of job losses and people feed up
with the way things run. By November after we have gone through the
eclipses, solstice and equinoxes, that are assisting us to right
things up we need to be balanced to move through the cross over point.
If not the Earth will reflect the fears and emotions of humanity,
the choice is ours, and we have the blessing of being in the Sixth Day
of the Galactic Underworld to help us.. There is a big shift in July,
from the beginning of July until the Solar Eclipse, Blue New Moon, a
doorway opening through greater union of Heaven and Earth. This means
that we can move through letting go our limitations and opening up to
our unlimited self, our multi-dimensional, multi-prismed self more
fully. In November we have the 13th Gate as we move into the Sixth
Night of the Galactic Underworld. This is our time to surrender and be
in the void and absolute stillness. The build up really started in
2008 as we were in the Fifth Night of the Galactic Underworld,
November 2007 to November 2008, with duality and materialism coming to
its peak and then starting to collapse. The year 2008 started with
Pluto into Capricorn and on the Leo Full Moon Then the 11th Gate was
anchored at the September Equinox, this was huge apart from all the
other things that occurred, but the fact that we are holding enough
light and unified enough duality for the 11th Gate to open and then
anchor shows how far we have come. In January 2008 Pluto moved into
Capricorn until 2023 creating transformation in the established
structures, as the old paradigm crumbles. Jupiter in Capricorn until
January 5th 2009, we have seen what that has done to the old
structures of money and government. Jupiter goes into Aquarius on
January 6th 2009 as, we forge ahead and create new structures and ways
of being as we transform and expand within the long established
structures of Earth. A time for new inventions or ones that have been
around awhile and suppressed, will now be brought out into the open to
utilise as these new, higher dimensional energies cannot be stopped
anymore, the time of people power is at hand.
