I fail to understand how the death of any human being is a subject for celebration. I also can not understanding why you chose to post your messages on a sight that  focuses on the mystic arts . The mystic arts in  my experience does not celbrate the aggression and dichotomy of right and wrong which seems to be in alot of your posts. I will not continue to contribute to this discussion as I believe that what you focus on increases and I wish to focus of life affirming activities not death and power and control dynamics . Go in peace and look at where you chose to post your message and why ?

      The way I look at it, any set back for Al Qaeda is reason to celebrate.  I don't like the killing any more than you do... really.  If I thought bringing all our troops home would end the killing, I would be a strong advocate for that.  The problem is Al Qaeda has been at war with us even before 1998 when Osama Bin Laden formally declared war on the U.S.  They slaughtered thousands of innocent people on our own soil, in our embassies, and in places all around the world.  They intend to do much worse.  You can't honestly tell me that if you and your family were about to be murdered in you home by a band of thugs that you wouldn't do everything in your power to neutralize the threat. Unfortunately this sometimes means killing in self defense.  I know this is where you and I may disagree, but I truly believe these people pose an enormous threat and will not stop until we are dead. They don't hide this fact, which is why I am so puzzled by your reaction and that of many other's who believe like you do that Al Qaeda can be dealt with diplomatically.  I'm really not some kind of cowboy who likes war, and I believe strongly that diplomacy is paramount.  The problem here is that when one party wants to resolve things diplomatically and the other does not, the end result is war.  Once war is thrust upon us, "there is no substitute for victory".  If we lose in Iraq, the enemy will plunder it's resources and kill innocent people by the millions, not just in Iraq, but in neighboring countries and again on U.S. soil.  Once at war, I don't care that an Al Qaeda terrorist has a mother, father, brother, sister, lover, or child because they want to kill me and my family. That's just irrelevant. They strap bombs on their own children Kari, think about it.  This is why I sleep well at night when I know Al Qaeda members have been captured or killed.  This is the reality we currently face.

And Jeff, please dont confuse good tone & courtesy with this god-for-saken subject! i have told u several times in my earlier posts that my life has been DIRECTLY influenced -- or rather, it has been practically ruined -- as a result of this whole business with Al Qaida & the phantom war against terrorism! This ought to show u just how i feel about Al Qaida, & about GwB's imaginary war in Iraq!

In other words i see the 2 sides, as the parts of the same BS that's been coming down on ordinary innocent people like myself who have had absolutely NOTHING to do with any of this crap.

So u just sit there & pretend like u're General Patton, or some kind of a better-knowing politician.....but u should also know that everything that u've stated under this thread from the very beginning, has been diametrically against the very essence of my existence in this country, & therefore u've recieved the kind of cold treatment that i have given u thru-out this whole topic!

If you don't like what's going on in MY country, you are free to live elsewhere. You think by attacking some unknown poster on this thread makes up for your so-called cold treatment?  If you are hostile to people, you can expect it back.  As you can see from the responses you've invoked from me.   I sooo don't want to hear about how your life has been affected-when people I know have lost friends and family both on September 11th and the ongoing occupation in Iraq.  And here I was all set to speak to you about the artwork you had as your avatar...instead i'm disgusted by what you write.

Caring about what the REST of the world thinks about the US is what got us involved in the middle east to begin with.  We were "friends" w/ Iraq...until they invaded Kuwait.  Then of course we find out the "Principals" in Kuwait lied just a tad about the extent of the invastion, etc.  But because the US helps those in need.......

I would just as soon the US sit the next one out (Iran) and let Israel clean house.

Anyway can read and cut and paste. Projection is a very powerful self defense which you seem to employ generously. I wouldn't be cutting and pasting, except some people might not believe my statement that we're number 38 on world life expectancy, below many second world countries. That our infant and maternal mortality rate is higher than many countries including many third world countries, although we don't have bombs falling on us to bring it down. Heal thyself physician.

Thanks for you post. As we know, over 1,000,000 Iraqis have been killed since our intervention. I'm sad for all the deaths. Including those who didn't have any choice (children, non combatants etc). I'm pro life, that is against killing. You'd think I were a Christian -- haha.  All I have to say is if I get in trouble, Uncle Sam, please don't help me!

I am opting to not contribute to this thread as it really affects me. Jeff commented about if people were thrating me or mine i would take uparms and the truth is I would not . Violence breeds violence hate breds hate and love and respect bred love and respect. I have lived in very hostile countries were I have been at risk constantly and I chose to see the humanity in all and this lead me to experince many wonedrous miracles.

I pracice a healing art alot like Reki and I can not use the gift of life and the gift of my birth place to harm another and justify it . NO MATTER WHAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO JUSTIFICATION FOR VIOLENCE. I have enjoye dyour posts Bela and you have given me hope that there are Americans who see the whole picture and the media and Gvt hype for what it is .

The thing that i've noticed is just how incredibly sensitive & vulnerable u're feeling...which is a reflection of how u think it's going with ur country at the moment. Go figure.
