Barack Obama as Page of Cups

I have been campaigning for and supporting Barack Obama since he took the Iowa primaries. I drew a Tarot card for him when he became the presumptive nominee, and received the Page of Cups, which I thought quite fitting. I have always thought this to be a card of charm, charisma, loyalty and faithfulness in love and in service, and a youthful male bringing messages of hope. I do think he can fulfill these badly needed qualities to our national crisis. Admittedly, he has his faults, but they are compensated by his many fine traits.

I am grateful to Senator Clinton for the wonderful hard fought successes her last two years has brought. She was the victor of the most popular votes cast and she did it as a Senior. I am 67 and she is a real role model for me. I hope younger women find her example one that will work for them.

I'm posting this topic in response to comments made by Chase on the Quick Poll of this website. I respectfully disagree with all your points regarding Iraq and here is why:

Bush is not a terrorist, he is the President of the United States elected by the people twice. He made the decision to remove Saddam's regime with an overwhelming approval from the Congress. Saying that Bush is a terrorist is as ludicrous as saying the US Congress is made up of terrorists. Any blood is on the hands of Saddam who could have averted this whole thing if he had just complied with UN resolutions.

Sorry Chase, but you got it all wrong. We did not go into Iraq to find those responsible for 9/11. In the numerous Bush speeches and comments leading up to the war, he never once made such an assertion and I challenge you to find even a single quote saying this. What you and many seem to forget is that immediately following 9/11, Bush declared war on "terror", which is a politically correct way of saying we were at war with Islamo Nazi's, the Muslim extremists who have been waging war on American's and civilized people all over the world for the past 30 years.

You are right, going after Saddam's WMD was the main reason we went to war in Iraq. The CIA lead by former President Clinton's George Tenent as well as all other US intelligence agencies were certain beyond a reasonable doubt that he had them. British Intelligence said he had them. French President Jacques Chirac said he had them. Vladamir Putin of Russia said he had them. Egyptian Intelligence said he had them. German Intelligence said he had them. The UN's Kofi Annan said he had them. Democrats and Republicans in the House/Senate including Al Gore, Hillary and Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and many others publicly said Saddam had these weapons and that force was warranted. After 9/11, Bush certainly would have never been re-elected if he chose to leave Saddam in power given the tyrant's outspoken contempt for the US and his known terrorist links.

Why don't you ask the evil terrorist murderers if there has been enough blood shed? You can hide your head in the sand if you want, but I have my eyes wide open and I can see that Al Qaida and their ilk are in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places in the world and they would love to get their hands on a dirty bomb or nuke and wipe out as many non-Muslims as possible. FYI, they also kill other Muslims that are not radical enough, so please don't tell me this is limited to American's or some line like that. It's a shame that we are losing good men and women in this battle, but they are heros and they are doing what must be done. Bin Laden himself and his number 2 Zawahiri have publicly said that Iraq is the main front in their Jihad.

Do I believe it? The fact that you are even asking this shows how blind you are to what is happening in the world. Does 9/11 right a bell? Does the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 ring a bell? Does the bombing of the USS Cole ring a bell? How about the Madrid Spain bombings, or the attempt to bomb Spain again a year later AFTER they had already pulled out their troops from Iraq? How about the train bombings in India? Or the hundreds of Russian children killed by the Muslim terrorists just a few years ago? Or the attempt to bomb a dozen commercial aircraft travelling from the UK to the US? Every last one of of these attacks are perpetrated by "Islamo N a z i s" that are hell bent on converting you and me over to their radical religion "by tongue and cheek". Unfortunately a majority of the Democrats in the US Congress are more interested in "picking up Senate seats" (this according to Harry Reid the Senate Majority leader), then winning this war. I can quote every one of these Democrats saying just a few years ago that this action was necessary. I can also quote several of them including Senator Biden saying that the toughest part of the war would be AFTER Saddam was gone. Unfortunately most of the media organizations around the world agree with your baseless statements and are unwittingly helping out the terrorists who have said many times that their most effective weapon against us was the media and public opinion. Bin Laden said (I'm paraphrasing), that the United States is a paper tiger that will turn back and run away when faced with casualties. If we prove him right, then every American, and indeed every civilized person in the world will have a big bullseye on their backs.

Urine Testing....and the welfare state.

My job requires us to take a pee-test, to test for drugs, etc. I'm so pure, you could sell my urine for a mint! I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, etc. Never-the-less I had to do it. Soooo, I'm sent to this "facility" which is, i guess a step above the welfare office, but a step below the emergency room? Anyway, I'm there for THREE hours. I wound up having a standing ovation for urination, they were so relieved to see me go after my THIRD attempt at filling the vial....

Then one of my pets at work sent this to me-and it couldn't be more true!!!

"......Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit.

In order to get that paycheck.. I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?"

How would we get something like this into action? If you are so inclined-send this to your local state representative. It's so easy to do by email these days!

I have to vent a little here. For all of the love and light that surrounds us every day I would like to think that people are finally waking up to the fact that we have some VERY REAL EVIL too close to us for comfort. So, are we going to just sit by and watch as the people of the US go to their knees under the oppressive administration? Or are we willing to stand up and stop being appathetic towards life and take back what is rightfully ours to take?! The Constitution was written for us. I have a message: The President Works for US. Somehow, there are whole generations that have forgotten this fact and that is exactly what the Illuminati wants us to do! They too are magicians and prophets but they use their craft for dark and evil ways. So, I ask you, is there any way for us, as a community of mystics, to stand up to this evil?!

If these were ordinary spirits this post would go something like this...How do I get rid of this spirit that is lurking around my home? And after reading of the terrible deeds this spirit has done, someone would respond that I should banish or send this spirit to the light.

Well, there is a spirit in our midst that is brandishing all sorts of power, and it is in our home, and it is trying to stifle us, and brainwash us into being one of its minions or at the very least one of the sheeple. It is the current administration of the US government and we have a right to say, "This is my home and I banish you to the light!!!"

Lets decide to take back our Country (our home) and our Constitution!

Another day in Iraq:

At least 175 people were killed when three suicide bombers driving fuel tankers attacked a town, home to an ancient minority sect, in northern Iraq on Tuesday in one of the worst single incidents in the four-year-old war. Iraqi army Captain Mohammad al-Jaad said at least another 200 people were wounded in the bombings in separate Yazidi neighborhoods in the town of Kahtaniya, west of Mosel.

Denver targets global warming

Denver is gearing up to fight global warming, and residents may soon be asked to make personal sacrifices to help save the planet.

The new plan is aimed at making Denver a national leader in reducing gas emissions that have been linked to global warming, giving a major push to alternative energy, stepping up recycling and changing building codes to encourage energy conservation.

But the proposal also contains some ideas that may be unpopular, such as penalizing heavy users of electricity and natural gas and basing auto insurance premiums on the number of miles traveled.

The ambitious goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 4.4 million metric tons by 2020, the equivalent of eliminating two small coal-fired power plants or taking 500,000 cars off the road.

Mayor John Hickenlooper has made the "climate action plan" a centerpiece of his second term in office. More than two dozen people from business and community groups met for several months with city staff to hammer out the plan. Many of them fear Colorado will be slammed hard by global warming, with more droughts and forest fires.

"There was a sense we have to be bold," said Beth Conover, director of Greenprint Denver, the city office that coordinated the plan. "What's the cost of inaction to our water supply and tourism industry?"

Much of the city's plan involves finding ways to encourage energy conservation by mandating efficiency standards for new construction and setting standards for older homes that would be enforced when the home is sold.

The city also would give incentives for car pooling and the use of hybrids and other low-polluting vehicles, possibly by giving them priority in parking.

To cut back on use of landfills - methane gas from landfills is a major contributor to global warming - the plan would encourage recycling and charge residents for the amount of trash they throw away.

Denver may ask voters to approve higher rates for "excessive" use of electricity and natural gas. The plan also floats the idea of using insurance premiums to penalize people who drive long distances.

"You can think of them as penalties or you can think of them as market signals," said Conover. "There's some choice involved."

Virginia Tech Murderer

I'm not really sure if this post should be in this category (Politics), but I just had to weigh in on the media's coverage of the Virginia Tech massacre. It's obvious this sick murdering maniac went out of his way to establish a legacy by taking pictures and shooting video footage of himself and then mailing it to NBC. What makes me so mad is that NBC made copies of this garbage before turning it over to the FBI and then aired it over and over and over again back to back for hours on end. This is exactly what the killer wanted and I think its an outrage that NBC fulfilled his dying wishes completely disrespecting the dead and the grieving families. What I find even more offensive is that there was little or no coverage of the heroes that emerged from this tragic event like the professor that gave his life to save his students. By plastering this murderer's video and pictures all over the news 24 hours a day they are glorifying his actions which can only serve to encourage other sick people to carry out similar actions. It is irresponsible and repugnant.

Iran involvement In Iraq

The evidence that Iran is funding and training the insurgency in Iraq is overwhelming. Iranian IED's have been killing Coalition soliders. If this is not an act of war, then I don't know what is. See the article below from the Associated Press:

US forces have killed two gunmen and discovered a large amount of Iranian currency and bomb-making materials in a raid on the Baghdad Shiite neighbourhood of Sadr City on Wednesday.

US troops searched 11 buildings during the raid in search of a cell involved in importing weapons from Iran into Baghdad and southeastern Iraq.

"As they continued to search the buildings, coalition forces found a large quantity of Iranian money, more than 6,000 dollars in US money and improvised explosive device-making materials," said the statement.

During the search US forces came under attack from four gunmen and confirmed killing two of them. Washington has repeatedly accused Iran of funding armed groups in Iraq and trying to distabilise the country, a charge it has denied.

On May 28, the US and Iranian ambassadors to Iraq will meet to discuss their respective policies in the war torn country.
