    Soulmates & your thoughts

Hello all. I'm just wondering what some thoughts were about soulmates... do you believe there is a particular individual that we are each destined to be with? Or do you believe there can be more than one soulmate in a lifetime?

    Re: Soulmates & your thoughts

I did not believe in the concept of twin flams or soulmates until I met a man this last June.  When we met it was over the Internet and it was like nothing I had ever experienced.... a connection that I cannot explain nor describe... almost as if we had been old friends all of our lives.  I did not mention to him how I felt at first because I assumed it was one-sided... he brought it up and we talked about it and soon thereafter we both fell deeply in love.  It's been several months, and he monopolizes my thoughts even though we live far away from one another and have actually only physically met once.  I did some research on the Internet and feel at this point that we are in fact soulmates... I cannot imagine sharing what we share with anyone else ever again after having met him.  Although our future is unclear and our circumstances are less than perfect, I know somehow that we are connected and meant to be together regardless of our not having all of the answers right now.

    Re: Soulmates & your thoughts

I have no doubt about soul-mates.  They exist!  I married mine.  There were things we shared (I use the past tense because he has passed on) that only genuine soul-mates can.  Our understanding went so deeply, we never fought, argued, or raise our voices in anger (but we did disagree sometimes.)  I believe that when I take the Great Journey, he will be there to greet me and if we are to have other incarnations, we will find each other through each one.

I also believe that my children are a type of soul-mate to each other and myself.  My own sister is one of my soul-mates, although we are not twins, in fact, we are often like night and day.  I also have one dear friend that has been closer than blood kin.  We both feel as if we have known each other through many lifetimes.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about soul-mates is that there can only be one.  With this thinking, how many people do we over-look and/or take for granted?

I don't believe that there is one person out there that we are destined to be with forever. Soulmates are made not born. And I think that people who are serioulsly convincing themselves that souldmates are real is just giving up on wat's real and wat's not. You know thinking "Oh I don't have a boyfriend, ok. Well that's fine, I have a soulmate out there somewhere." It's kinda pathetic.

Soul-mates made??? Hmmm, does anyone have a recipe?  Just kidding, but really, just because one has never, ever beheld the ocean does not mean it does not exist.  If one chooses to settle for a puddle, rather than hold out for the sea, the illusion is in the believing that the puddle is as good as it gets.  For anyone that chooses this path, I feel deep sorrow for all they may miss out on in this life.

Passing judgement on others as "pathetic" seem harsh.  Is settling less pathetic?

Soul-mates does not mean, though, that we can take one another for granted, or that we do not work to keep the fires from becoming cold embers.  For anyone that walks with a soul-mate, I am assured they will attest to the fact that the fires burn hotter, higher, and brighter than they ever imagined.  This is worth waiting for, working towards, and discovering.  It is deplorable, pitiful, and pathetic to give up.

    Re: Soulmates & your thoughts

if you believe in reincarnation, past lives then you have to believe in soulmates. i mean soulmates are people you bump into as you go thru many different lives. blast from the past or future - if u buy parallel universe.

    soulmate = intense connection

that connection could be good or bad.

and even though this is a relationship forum, i dont think soulmates are just romantic mates. they could by ur sibling, best friend, child.

with anyone that you have an intense reaction could possibly be someone from the past. could be an abuser coming back to heal. could be a sibling who had been a lover before.

that is the only way i can explain the intense connection i have with my ex, my friends and my daughter.

    Re: Soulmates & your thoughts

Well if there really is a soulmate, out there for everyone,

then I hope that everyone is really happy with he or she.

But than again you sometimes have 2 go looking for them.
